Only July 31, 2021, Kamden participated in a qualifying day at his home track in Obetz, Ohio. Not only did he put his Light 160 on top of the qualifying list, but he set a new track record turning a lap time of 5.753 seconds. This is a record that was previously held by Seth Crandall and was last broken in 2010. This is a major accomplishment for Kamden and the entire team. "Being put in the record books at your home track is something I can remember forever. It's a small group of drivers who get that opportunity and I'm thrilled I was able to break the record"
That wasn't the only highlight of the weekend. Kamden went on to win both his heat and feature in the class, capping off a perfect weekend. Great job Kamden and all of HMS.
